In this section, we outline the essential services that transform a standard move into a seamless international relocation experience. At Bolliger, we understand that moving across borders requires careful planning, specialized packing, and attention to every detail. That’s why we offer a comprehensive range of services, from expert packing and handling of fragile or heavy items to arranging parking permits and insurance. Our team ensures that your belongings are packed with precision, using high-quality materials to protect them during transit. We also manage any logistical challenges, such as securing parking permits for loading and unloading. With our tailored solutions, we address every aspect of your move, leaving nothing to chance. Whether you're moving delicate artwork, furniture, or large household items, our services are designed to meet your specific needs and provide peace of mind. Explore the key elements that make an international removal with Bolliger truly exceptional.

Contents / Smalls Packing
Smaller items are wrapped in recycled acid-free paper, forming protective cushions inside fully packed boxes to prevent movement during transit. Items from each room are packed separately for better organization, ensuring that items from the same room stay together, like living room books with living room books, not mixed with kitchen items.

Furniture Packing
All Furniture is disassembled where necessary for safe transport and wrapped in double-layer bubble wrap to preserve its integrity. Many pieces are then further protected with a custom-fit cardboard layer for additional protection. In some cases, this process is repeated to create up to 5 cm of protective cushioning.

Superior Packing Materials
All Furniture is disassembled where necessary for safe transport and wrapped in double-layer bubble wrap to preserve its integrity. Many pieces are then further protected with a custom-fit cardboard layer for additional protection. In some cases, this process is repeated to create up to 5 cm of protective cushioning.

Stowing and Stacking
All Furniture is disassembled where necessary for safe transport and wrapped in double-layer bubble wrap to preserve its integrity. Many pieces are then further protected with a custom-fit cardboard layer for additional protection. In some cases, this process is repeated to create up to 5 cm of protective cushioning.

Custom Wooden Crates
For valuable or delicate items, we create custom wooden crates, certified and treated for international transport. These crates are crafted by a specialist carpenter for paintings, sculptures, marble, large glass items, and antique furniture.

Insurance
Our moving insurance is carefully designed to meet the needs of our clients. As a standard, we follow the CMR insurance, which covers €1 per KG (£0.91 per KG). However, for high-value items, this coverage may not be sufficient.
To address this, we offer additional insurance through a specialised broker in removals and fine art, ensuring more comprehensive and tailored coverage. The policy is based on the declared value of the shipment, which is set according to the value of the items indicated by the client. As a result, the cost of the coverage varies depending on the declared value (we provide a specific form at the time of booking with Bolliger). Our insurance policies are divided into two types: All Risk and Transport Risk.
-
All Risk Insurance applies to shipments packed by professional movers and covers damage regardless of the condition of the external packaging (example, a broken glass inside a perfectly packed box). This policy is recommended for moves requiring full protection, with the condition that packing is carried out by our teams.
-
Transport Risk Insurance, a more affordable option, covers damage only when it is visibly evident on the external packaging. It does not cover the contents if the packaging shows no external signs of damage (example, a broken glass in a perfectly packed box will not be reimbursed), and it applies to goods packed by the customer.
Levels of Packing and Delivery Services
To enable our customers to precisely calibrate the level of service, as well as the budget, of their move, Bolliger offers different types of service for both collection and delivery. The customer will be able to choose how much personal involvement he/she wants in both the home of origin and the home of destination.
Below you will find a table with a summary of the types of services we populate. The customer is, of course, free to choose between the options, mixing up the types if they wish. For example ‘Full Pack’ at origin and ‘Partial Unpack’ at destination, or vice versa.
Ask our quotation department, they will be happy to provide you with multiple options.
*** Why is there no ‘Load only’ option at origin?
Given that for transport reasons all items that are collected by Bolliger must necessarily be packed (including furniture and its parts, e.g. sides of wardrobes, mattresses, bedside tables, etc.), and given that in 99.9% of cases the esteemed customers do not have the know-how nor the appropriate material to pack this type of item: Bolliger always provides for a quantity of packing material and labour in its calculations, at least for furniture.
